No es la primera vez que intento pintar una pieza al revés. Tampoco será la última creo yo. Esto no lo he puesto en la Newsletter para no hacerla eterna. Así que si habéis llegado hasta aquí, os regalo otro momento embarazoso.
Amsterdam, hace unos cuantos años. Mickey me invita a un evento junto a otros amigos suyos, entre ellos Swet71 (acaba de sacar su nuevo libro). El tio es imparable, y siempre que le veo me contagia ese energía que tiene. Pintamos en un centro comercial que iban a remodelar, y querían darle el típico baño de graffiti para atraer al público. Una de los espacios era guapísimo, con espejos y cristales, superficies distintas que me encantan. Decidí hacerme una pieza que se viera desde un cristal pintada por la cara interna.
Pá qué? Evidentemente, a media pieza Jake ( el gran Jake) me dice, María, ven a verlo. Lo vi. :S
Bueno, quizás ahora que lo he puesto por escrito, decida de verdad, trabajar en ello para que no vuelva a pasarme esto..
Por suerte… pude salvarla
This isn’t the first time I’ve tried painting a piece upside down. Nor will it be the last, I think.
I didn’t include this in the newsletter so it wouldn’t go on forever. So if you’ve made it this far, here’s another embarrassing moment for you.
Amsterdam, a few years ago. Mickey invited me to an event with some of his other friends, including Swet71 (who’d just released his new book). The guy is unstoppable, and whenever I see him, his energy rubs off on me. We were painting in a shopping mall that was about to be remodeled, and they wanted to give it that classic graffiti makeover to attract the public. One of the spaces was gorgeous, with mirrors and glass—different surfaces that I love. I decided to do a piece that could be seen through the glass, painted on the inside.
Why?
Obviously, halfway through the piece, Jake (the great Jake) says to me, “María, come see this.” I saw it. :S
Well, maybe now that I’ve put it in writing, I’ll actually decide to work on it so this doesn’t happen to me again…
